Testimonials

  • Jamie added immense value to my labor and delivery care team. Together with her clinical knowledge, she brings an expertise and understanding about a pregnant person's body, best practices during pregnancy, and just an overall supportive energy.

Anyone who trusts Jamie to be part of their birth work, will feel prepared and supported for whatever labor and delivery looks like. I am so grateful to be able to share my experience here!

  • Jamie brought props and visuals to help us learn without fear. She answered any and all questions and brought up things we hadn’t thought of. Because of Jamie we felt so much more prepared for our delivery. She truly helped us feel at ease during one of the more stressful times in our lives. Couldn’t have done it without her friendship and support, to know her is to love her.

  • Working with Jamie during my pregnancy was incredibly helpful, especially when it came to preparing for birth. She walked me through everything with so much care, gave thoughtful feedback, and encouraged me to have open conversations with my OB team so I felt informed and prepared every step of the way.

She also introduced me to exercises and techniques to help ease labor and was very supportive of me having a doula, which helped create such a positive and collaborative environment during labor.

She is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and deeply passionate about empowering every laboring parent she cares for.

  • Walking into the hospital in active, stuck labor was stressful, and it wasn't in my birth plan (we all know how that can feel) so I was apprehensive, but the minute we met Jamie everything changed... Jamie is the reason we had a positive hospital birth, where we felt listened to and fully supported. She knew techniques and exercises to ease labor, she knew exactly where to press on my hips to relieve pain, she knew how to talk to the doctors and she advocated for me effectively. I really didn't want a C-section, and after 31 total hours of labor, my son was born vaginally. Jamie is just the best nurse on earth. She is the exact magic you need when going through the experience of childbirth.

  • I was the charge nurse one night and asked Jamie if she could help a patient who had been pushing on and off for approximately 4 hours, and still was not engaging well into the pelvis for delivery.

The doctor was preparing the patient for the OR, but agreed to one final effort for a vaginal delivery. After about an hour of stretches, position changes and active management the patient was able to have a safe vaginal delivery… Jamie’s efforts saved the patient from a C/S and the complications that can follow a surgical procedure.

Jamie successfully chaired our unit-based C/S reduction committee for two years. She and the team have been successfully working on reducing the rate of primary C-sections at [L&D Unit]. She is continually being sought out by providers now to assist with patients who seem "stuck" in their labor and pushing progress and has been able to help patients and providers on countless occasions.
