    • Interactive courses presented in-home using multiple modes of teaching such as slideshow, hands-on practice, baby model, pelvic model, and more!

    • Ideally, book between 25-32 weeks of pregnancy, 37 weeks at the latest, for most benefit

    • Travel radius up to 15 miles outside of Alexandria, Virginia 22302 area code - will happily consider further locations

    • Parent(s) of baby, 1 support person, and 1 doula welcome

    • Non-refundable 50% deposit required to confirm booking

    • Please have a yoga mat, thin sheet, well inflated yoga ball, and multiple pillows available. Optional: yoga block(s), well inflated peanut ball, foam roller

  • An interactive lesson on positions and exercises to be used in preparation for and during labor. Families obtain a basic understanding of how to move and breathe in an effort to encourage baby into the optimal position for ease of labor and as a tool for navigating contractions.

  • All objectives from Beginner plus…

    Further education about fetal positioning, belly mapping, pelvic anatomy, cervical readiness, contractions, coping mechanisms, and methods for having insightful conversation with your care team.

    Approximately 2.5 hours

  • All objectives from Beginner and Intermediate plus…

    Further education on non-medicinal labor coping methods such as use of TENS units, massage, counter pressure, methods of distraction, and how support people can remain involved.

    Evidence-based introductory education of medical interventions such as “breaking of water”, Pitocin, nitrous gas (some facilities may not offer nitrous gas), epidural anesthesia, and intravenous pain medication - as well as, emergent interventions such assisted vaginal delivery or unplanned C-Section delivery.

    If there is a known pregnancy risk factor, for example - history of labor complications, gestational diabetes, increased risk for hemorrhage, or risk factors associated with shoulder dystocia, we will briefly discuss these items as well.
