  • Childbirth education courses in the comfort of your own home.

  • Ideally, after 25 weeks and before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

  • Our home base is in the Alexandria, Virginia 22302 area code. Included in course cost is travel up to 15 miles from our home base. Any further than 15 miles will require a travel add-on fee.

  • The parent(s) of the baby, 1 additional support person, and 1 doula. This is primarily to keep courses personalized and with efficient timing.

  • Courses require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm booking.

    The full course cost is due no later than 24-hours before course start time.

  • Yes! Please have a yoga mat, thin sheet, well inflated yoga ball, and multiple pillows available. Optional: yoga block(s), well inflated peanut ball

    If you cannot obtain these items, please inform your nurse at least 24-hours before course start time.

  • Every single pregnancy and delivery is different than the next. They are unique like fingerprints. I am happy to join your team no matter how many times you’ve welcomed a baby.

    Although the courses are designed with a hospital setting in mind, the information is largely applicable to any delivery setting.

  • The courses are geared towards encouraging an uncomplicated vaginal delivery.

    We currently do not have course material focusing on scheduled or planned C-sections but please use the “Contact” page to let us know this is something you are interested in.

  • The offered courses are never meant to replace the advise given to you by your advanced practitioner (i.e. midwife, doctor, physical therapist…). They are simply guidance on how to balance naturally occurring birth with necessary or beneficial medical care.

    It is best we discuss your history before your scheduled course to make sure course material is personalized to your needs.

  • No, The Labor Prep Nurse is not affiliated with any health systems or health organizations.

    We do not recommend or denounce any individuals, health systems, or health organizations.

  • The Labor Prep Nurse does not participate with medical insurances and cannot accept FSA/HSA payments. All services are self-pay.
